Wildlife Safari in Corbett National Park

Corbett national park is situated in Nainital and Pauri District of Uttarakhand state. Corbett National park covered 520.82 sq kilometres area; in this park you can found 580 types of bird species,7 species of amphibians, 33 species of reptiles, 7 species of fishes and 37 species of dragonflies. Ramganga is the lifeline of Corbett national park.

 

There are three main tourist zones in Jim Corbett Park Bijrani, Jhirna and Dhikala. Dhikala is biggest wildlife safari zone among them; it spread on 48 sq. kilometres area. Dhikala is also famous for its forest rest house which is situated along the river Ramganga. Beautiful grassland is also there where one can go by day jeep safari.

 

Major part of Corbett national park are closed from mid of June to mid of November during the Monsoon period. Jhirna and Sitabani (Buffer zone) stay open all period of time.

Jeep Safari: You can hire the open gypsy for safari inside the park. In Bijrani and Jhirna no need to stay inside the park: but if you want to take gypsy safari in Dhikala zone you have to stay one night at Dhikala forest lodge.

Elephant Safari: This is the finest way to visit Corbett Nationalpark is from side to side the “Elephant Safari”, without disturbance by the mechanical roar of a jeep & Canter. Elephant safari is famous in Dhikala tourism zone. You can book your elephant safari at the counter of safari booking in Dhikala.

Canter Safari: Canter safari is best safari option for the day visitors in Dhikala Forest Zone. It takes 5 to 6 hours to visit all the safari routs of Dhikala zone. In between it take half an hour’s break at Dhikala Forest Lodge for freshness and breakfast.

One can take permits for jeep Safari and canter safari from the reception of Corbett Tiger Reserve at Ramnagar city.
